Building the future of link management and analytics.

Most short links do one thing: redirect everyone who clicks to the same destination, every time.

What if you want to send US visitors to your US store and UK visitors to your UK store — from the same link? What if you want to redirect mobile users to your app and desktop users to your website?

With Smart Redirects, you do it with one link.

What are smart redirects?

Smart Redirects is a Linkkit feature that lets you set rules for where a link redirects based on specific conditions. Instead of one link to one destination, you get one link that routes each visitor to the right destination automatically. You set the rules. Linkkit handles the routing.

The conditions you can set

By location (country)

Send visitors to a country-specific page based on where they're clicking from. One link that routes UK visitors to your .co.uk store, US visitors to your .com store, and everyone else to your global page.

By device type

Route mobile users to your app store listing or mobile-optimised landing page, and desktop users to your full website. Especially useful for app download campaigns where iPhone users should go to the App Store and Android users to Google Play.

By time of day or date

Set a link to point to one destination during your campaign window and automatically redirect to a different page when the campaign closes. Useful for flash sales, limited-time offers, and event registrations with a deadline.

A real example

You're running a back-to-school campaign across email, social media, and printed flyers in three countries. With Smart Redirects, one link handles everything:

  • UK visitors go to your UK campaign page

  • US visitors go to your US campaign page

  • AU visitors go to your AU campaign page

  • After September 5th, all visitors go to a sale-ended page

One link. Four rules. Fully automated.

How to set up smart redirects

  • Create or open a short link in Linkkit

  • Go to the Smart Redirects tab in the link settings

  • Click Add Rule

  • Choose your condition — location, device, or time

  • Set the destination for that condition

  • Add a default destination for visitors who don't match any rule

  • Save and activate

What this means for your analytics

Every click is still tracked with full location, device, referrer, and time data. You can see exactly how many people were routed to each destination — useful campaign intelligence beyond just a total click count.
