If you currently manage your links using Short.io, Linkkit makes it easy to migrate your existing short links directly into your Linkkit workspace.
Instead of manually exporting and importing files, Linkkit allows you to securely connect your Short.io account using an API key. Once connected, you can preview and selectively import your existing links into Linkkit.
This guide explains how to migrate your links from Short.io using the built-in import tool inside the Linkkit dashboard.

Before You Start
Before importing your links, make sure you have:
The API key allows Linkkit to securely access your Short.io links and import them into your workspace.
Step 1: Open the Import Tool in Linkkit
First, navigate to the Short.io migration tool in your Linkkit dashboard.
Log in to your Linkkit Dashboard
Open Settings
Click Import in the sidebar
Select Import from Short.io
You will see the Import from Short.io connection panel.
Step 2: Get Your Short.io API Key
To connect your Short.io account, you need your API key.
Follow these steps:
Log in to your Short.io dashboard
Open Settings
Navigate to Integrations
Locate your API Key
Copy the API key
This key will be used to authenticate the connection with Linkkit.
Step 3: Connect Your Short.io Account
Return to the Linkkit import screen and connect your account.
Paste your Short.io API key into the input field
Click Connect
Linkkit will then verify the API key and establish a secure connection with your Short.io account.
Step 4: Preview and Import Your Links
After connecting successfully, Linkkit will retrieve your existing Short.io links.
You will be able to:
Preview available links
Select which links to import
Import links into your Linkkit workspace
Once confirmed, Linkkit will automatically create the corresponding short links inside your account.
Step 5: Organize Your Imported Links
After the migration is complete, you can organize your links using Linkkit’s management features. Recommended actions include:
Assign links to segments
Add links to lists
Configure campaign tracking parameters
Enable expiration settings
Apply password protection if needed
Segments help you group links by campaign, audience, or marketing channel.
Verify Your Imported Links
Once the import is finished, test a few links to confirm everything works correctly.
Make sure that:
Links redirect to the correct destination
Custom slugs appear correctly
